Depending on your treatment needs, we may refer you to a psychiatrist who can prescribe and monitor medication. Psychiatrists are trained medical doctors who prescribe medications and spend much of their time with patients on medication management.
We will continue to see you for regular appointments, as the best treatment is usually a combination of medication and therapy.
The decision to incorporate medication into your treatment is never taken lightly. Therefore, we only recommend seeking medication if we believe it is in your best interest.
